OVERVIEW

The course will give students an introduction to one of the two main disciplines of the music industry, depending on the strand selected by the student. The course offers two strands in the areas of  music engineering and music performance each offering a different certification. The course is designed to enable students to develop the skills necessary for work in a dynamic and ever changing music industry.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Five O6/H7 in Leaving Certificate/LCVP including a pass in English or a merit in Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI level 4 Certificate. The academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants (21+).

CERTIFICATION

PROGRESSION

Graduates may progress to courses in Higher Education Institutions on a competitive basis through the new QQI Common Awards System (CAS). For information on the scheme see Higher Education Links Scheme. Student can also progress to HNDs within BCFE. Suitable HNDs include:
