Traditional Music Graduate wins 2 BBC Folk Awards

Daoiri Farrell , a graduate of the HND in Irish Traditional Music Performance  won two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Daoiri had been nominated in 3 Categories and on the night won, Best Traditional Track  for the track  Van Diemen’s Land from his new album  ‘True Born Irishman’  (featuring BCFE’s own Pat Daly and Tony Byrne) and  also the Horizon Award for best new artist.

Daoiri and his band (featuring  Pat Daly and Tony Byrne) performed  Van Diemen’s Land on stage in the Royal Albert Hall last night. Ry Cooder, Billy Bragg and Al Stewart also performed on the night. Full details can be found on:
