Illustration Exhibition

BCFE Illustration Exhibition at Ballyfermot Library

The Illustration Exhibition showcases the work from the past six months from both the first- and second- year illustration students ranging from Inktober pieces to mixed media ‘beard’ projects.

It will also be showing individual pieces by the second years from their charity calendar for Focus Ireland which was sold at Dublin Comic Arts Festival in December 2019. Another project on show is the ‘Apple Project’ by first years.  This project entailed that students reinterpret famous artist’ pieces to include apple at the centre of it’s composition. The first years are also exhibiting one of their inked pieces from the daily drawing challenge, Inktober.

Another collection of work in the exhibition is the ‘Georgian Society Project’ by second years in which they split into groups to do a presentation of different aspects from architecture to fashion from the era. Finally, a number of students are showcasing their projects from the ‘Bearded Man’ assignment.  In this they were required to create three bearded persons which included incorporating textile into the finished pieces.
