Content Creation and Photography Students Step Into Industry at Croke Park

Students from the Content Creation and Photography programme at Ballyfermot College recently took part in a live industry project at the MIB International Business Network conference, “We Believe”, held in Croke Park.

Working across photography and video teams, students were responsible for delivering professional content for the event. This included capturing headshots, conducting interviews and creating social media content for organisers.

A key part of the project was the collaboration with Hopeful Handbags. Attendees made donations to the charity in exchange for professional headshots, supporting an organisation that helps people leave domestic violence situations and rebuild their lives.

The experience gave students the opportunity to work in a real environment, with real expectations. They planned the project in advance, delivered on site, and completed the post-production work before sharing final content with organisers and attendees.

Opportunities like this are made possible through strong industry connections and reflect Cit of Dublin FET Ballyfermot College’s commitment to ensuring students graduate with practical, relevant experience.

It also highlights the value of having a teaching team that remains active in industry, bringing current practice and real opportunities directly into the student experience.
