Dembaya wins the IFTA for Best Animated Short
Since graduating from the Irish School of Animation at Ballyfermot College, alumna Shauna Cullen has been working at Jam Media, where she began as a Production Manager of children’s content. There, Shauna went on to Produce Nova Jones S1, 2, & 3 for the BBC. Dembaya was directed by Borja Guillot, commissioned by RTEjr and executive produced by Eimear O’Mahony. Dembaya tells the story of a young girl and her family who are forced to flee their African village due to war and seek refuge in Ireland. As they rebuild their lives, they discover that home is not just a place, but a feeling they create together.
