IMMA Internship for Ballyfermot Radio & Degree Graduate
City of Dublin FET College, Ballyfermot is celebrating one of its own after Radio, Podcasting, Production and Presenting student Zoe McKenna secured a paid summer internship at the Irish Museum of Modern Art — and she couldn’t be more excited about it.
Zoe, a local Ballyfermot student, is heading to IMMA this summer as an Audio and Podcast Assistant, where she’ll spend three months working at the heart of one of Ireland’s most respected cultural institutions. It’s a remarkable opportunity, and one she’s taking on with real enthusiasm. This time last year, June 2025 Zoe was on Erasmus with the prestigious Talk Radio Europe where she was involved with all aspects of Radio Programme making and presenting

During her three-month placement, Zoe will be getting stuck into a wide range of work — from recording and editing audio to supporting IMMA’s celebrated Public Talks Programme, a thirty-five-year archive of conversations with artists, curators, and cultural voices that is currently being transformed into a professional podcast series for Spotify. Alongside the audio production side of things, she’ll also be playing a key role in social media promotions for the museum, helping to bring IMMA’s work to new and wider audiences.
The internship has been made possible through the TikTok Digital Future Fund, a €750,000 investment by Rethink Ireland aimed at building digital and creative skills among young people across the country. The partnership between IMMA and City of Dublin FET College is a brilliant example of what that investment can achieve — connecting classroom learning with real-world professional experience at the highest level.
