Students Capture Aviation Careers in Action at AvCon 2025

Students from the Photography and Content Creation course at City of Dublin FET College Ballyfermot recently attended this year’s AvCon to produce visual content for the national aviation careers exhibition.

AvCon, which attracted over 15,000 Transition Year students from across Ireland, showcased opportunities in both the commercial aviation sector and the Defence Forces. The event featured an impressive line-up of aircraft displays, interactive stands, and live panel discussions with professionals from across the aviation industry.

Throughout the day, the Ballyfermot students documented the atmosphere, photographing aircraft and student interactions, while two of the group took the lead in filming interviews and short reels to help promote future AvCon events.

Their work offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at one of the country’s largest careers exhibitions, capturing both the excitement and educational value of the day. Highlights include ten standout images and a short promotional reel produced entirely by the students.

Overall, AvCon 2025 proved to be a dynamic and engaging experience for all involved, with students gaining valuable industry insights and hands-on experience while showcasing their creative and technical skills.

This is an example of the college’s expertise in ensuring students gain hands-on experience throughout their learning journey.

The students who created the images and content you are seeing here are Christine Jones, Ben Ellis, Ben Woodhall, Jack Quin and Sean Daan.
