Rapidly evolving technology is a constant in modern business life, and managing change and people is critical to success. Research highlights the value of the interrelationship between business and psychology. The combined insights from both of these disciplines will give graduates the practical, critical and professional skills to navigate an ever-changing business landscape.

This course is delivered collaboratively between two institutions: in years 1 and 2 students will study in Ballyfermot College of Further Education. In years 3 and 4 students are based at the Institute of Art and Design (IADT).

Students learn in a flexible way, advised and guided by experienced staff.

Students on this course will:

  • Gain an understanding of the theory, concepts and methods relevant to business and psychology.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of the specialised competencies required to work in a wide range of roles.
  • Learn the necessary competencies through studies and topics-based seminars.
  • Work with technologies, processes and environments relevant to the broad field of business and psychology.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of conflict resolution and collaboration.
  • Learn how psychological principles can enhance communications, provide understanding and insight into human behaviour and dynamics. and inform the application of leadership skills.
  • Explore opportunities for work placement in third year.

What do you need to apply?

In addition to the Standard minimum entry requirements for all courses in BCFE, the following additional requirements are needed for this course:

  • Five O6/H7 in Leaving Certificate/LCVP
  • Leaving Certificate must include English and Mathematics (Maths at F2 is acceptable to meet the minimum maths entry requirement).
