This one year course introduces students to the Media industry with a strong emphasis on the practical skills needed to work in Media and Broadcasting including Radio, Television, Online and Print Journalism. All aspects of this dynamic course are integrated and assessed through individual and group assignments and projects in the college’s state-of-the-art Radio and Television Studios.
Many students progress from this Media Diploma Course on to HND courses in BCFE or further studies elsewhere.
Five O6/H7 in Leaving Certificate/LCVP or a merit in Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI level 4 Certificate. Applicants should bring relevant work to the interview. The academic entry requirements may be waived for mature applicants (21+).
Diploma in Creative Media Production. 120 Credit QCF .
A National Diploma is recognised by the QQI as being comparable to NFQ Level 5 Certificate. The Higher National Diploma is a BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) qualification awarded by the UK awarding body Pearson. and is not, at present, placed on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
Graduates with a BTEC National Diploma are qualified to enter 1st year of degree courses in the UK system and may also progress to Higher National Diploma courses in BCFE (merit profile required). Suitable courses include:
